The Craftsmen that Helped Us

Architect - John Dwyer from Shelter Architecture

Office: 621-870-4081 - ask for John

John was instrumental in helping us refine my initial design, get the structure of the addition sound, and tie in the addition to the existing house so it looks like the entire house was built this way in 1942. Just as important, he was instrumental in helping us reach our goals AND stay in budget.

He's also an all-around good guy.

Hardwood Floors - Brian Roberge of Brian's Floor Service

Office: 651-329-2030

Brian refinished all our 1st floor hardwood back in early spring of 2004. When we decided to do the kitchen and dining room in hardwood during the remodel, we knew just who to call. He does amazing work at a fair price. I dare any of you to notice where the old floor ended and the new floor begins.

Wall Painting and Woodwork Staining - Chris Puchner of Puchner Paint Works

Cell: 612-245-8393

I was planning on doing all the painting and woodwork finishing myself. Of course, I started having to work ridiculous hours at my "real" job so I went looking for help. Chris did an amazing job matching the stain of the existing and new cabinets for the door trim, baseboard, etc. He brought several samples of stain color to Jody and me and even when we said the color was "good enough" he went back a few more times until he matched it perfectly. I also had him touch up my missed spots and finish priming and painting the stairwell. He also painted our interior mudroom door with metalic and then chalkboard paint like we wanted. Overall there was no fuss, no mess, and a HUGE timesaver for me at a great price. Call him for any and all your painting and staining needs.
